ABOUT US

Glossolalia Online is a hip-hop and jazz fusion collective led by keyboard player Trevor Villwock. It combines deeply layered lyricism, instrumental pyrotechnics, and psychedelic electronic textures to create an immersive and multi-faceted listening experience. Since 2021 it has featured Ratarue on vocals, a fixture of the Austin rap scene since the 90s.

Glossolalia Online has existed in many forms since its beginning in 2019. What at first was a combination of live free jazz shows and collaborative electronic tracks gradually morphed into an 8 person core lineup including rapper Ratarue, flutist Jean-Carlo Vences, sax player Damien Valenzuela, violinist Maddy Brotherton, guitarist Phil Pilon, bassist Alex Freeman, and drummer Gabe Ceballos.​ The group has performed at Sahara Lounge, dadaLab, King Bee, Antone's, Electric Lounge,  and Kenny Dorham's Backyard among other Austin venues.

Trevor has been playing and teaching keyboard professionally in Austin since 2017. One of his main gigs is being the keys player in the house band for the long running Blue Monday Blues Jam that’s currently at Kenny Dorham’s Backyard but was at Dozen Street when he started in 2018. He's also performed with Tomar and the FCs, Matthew Robinson, Soul Finger, and Paul Val among other Austin bands.
